Hold that thought , my reflex when a patient mentions a wish, has a dreamy look in his eye, imagines something positive, a new possibility. Hold onto that, even if it might not come to pass, still, hold onto it, the possibility. You never know. And there's plenty of time to feel badly if it doesn't. It wasn't just me.
